Our Work Together
My practice is rooted in compassion and collaboration, blending traditional medicine with integrative and holistic approaches to get you feeling better and in control of your mental health.
Importantly, we will identify and address the root causes of your symptoms and consider medication AN option, not the ONLY option. With experience in both traditional medication management and integrative treatments, including Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Nutritional and Metabolic Psychiatry, Genetic Testing, Mind-body Practices, Transmagnetic Stimulation Therapy, and Spravato, I will provide personalized solutions tailored to your individual needs and values.
Medication Management
Medications can be wonderful tools and they deserve thoughtful consideration in the context of a larger, more comprehensive approach. If a medication could be helpful, I will explain why and what options are available. We’ll go through the pros and cons together and you’ll be supported in making a decision that feels right or you.
Mind-Body Medicine
I incorporate mindfulness, breathing exercises, and meditation into treatment to help regulate your physiologic stress response and to increase insight into deeper thoughts and emotions. Emotions stored in the body can negatively affect our wellbeing and may manifest as symptoms.
Supplements and Herbal Medicine
I prescribe nutraceuticals, herbs, and supplements to support your mental health. If you are already taking supplements, I help you optimize your regimen and make sure there are no medication interactions.
Nutritional Psychiatry
A well-nourished brain is one of the foundations of holistic mental health, and recent studies have shown that nutrition can have a powerful effect on psychiatric and mental health symptoms. I will look at your eating patterns and see if there are small, easy, sustainable changes that would be worth your while to make. I may refer patients for further treatment with an expert integrative dietician or program that can best help reach your goals.
Genetic Testing
Genetic testing can help me provide you with personalized medication treatments, predict responses to specific medications, and optimize your medication regimen.
Medication Tapering Support
I support people in reducing or stopping psychotropic medication(s) if clinically indicated. Many patients struggle with withdrawal symptoms when stopping medications, and I have learned that a careful taper combined with lifestyle interventions can help people successfully discontinue meds.
Psychotherapy
I do therapy with many of my patients and help others find a therapist who is a good fit. If you see an outside therapist, I keep in touch with them so we can work together to supoort you.
Lifestyle Medicine
We discuss your habits and routines and come up with a plan to adjust your lifestyle to support your mental health. This can include working on things like movement, restorative sleep, stress management, and relationship to technology. I support you in making realistic changes that you can sustain over time.
Appointments + Fees
-
(60 mins)
This one-time intake appointment consists of a comprehensive evaluation of your medical and psychiatric history, your lifestyle habits, review of records and lab results from other providers, and discussion of your treatment goals, followed by diagnosis and collaborative treatment planning.
-
(25-min)
We’ll look at what has come up since we last met. We’ll track your progress, review lab results, consider what is or is not working well for you. This length of visit is best for focused concerns, or following up on medication or supplement management. If we are integrating psychotherapy into your treatment, a 50-minute session would be best suited for that.
Extended Follow-up (50 min)
We’ll be able to do everything that’s included in the 25-minute follow-up, plus time for psychotherapy interventions, mind-body practices or more extensive review of how the treatment plan is shaping up for you. -
